Video block

I just realised that The Daily Show videos from their website is not available in Ireland and the UK anymore unless you have a different IP address. I, myself use modify headers on Firefox. If you are interested in watching the videos I’ll help you with Firefox, or I'll just write in detail about the episodes, put some screen caps here and there, or use the wonderful YouTube.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I hate you viacom

Death from a bun?

Main story here

I wonder if this is actually true. Sure, hot dogs isn't the most healthy food in the world and shouldn't be consumed everyday, but cancer? That is kind of a stretch don't you think? They also say it is addicting like drugs. I think all kinds of food COULD be addicting. I mean, food is seen as a drug nowadays anyway because of obesiety, so if this is true, it is also not shocking.

But comparing hot dogs to cigarettes is just stupid.

Herman Cain

Oh its on!

There are two people in the presidental nominations of the Republican party that really makes me laugh. They are so bizarre it's must be a joke. Herman Cain is the funniest so far though.

I'm not sure, but his ideas for the election are incredibly controversal and inhuman I actually I had to look everything up. He wants to put an electric fence on the mexican border. AN ELECTRIC FENCE! I'm going to let that sink in abit. How the hell so anyone get an idea of putting an electric fence on the border? Sure, immigration is an issue in America, but a electric fence is just plain stupid. In an press conferance he told the public that it was a joke, later in that conferance he said it wasn't a joke. This guy is insane.

Enjoy this little piece I found on youtube

Bill Clinton

I always enjoy when Bill Clinton visit the show.

On Nov 8th 2011 the former US president sat down with Jon Stewart to discuss the economy and his book 'Back to Work', which has a plan to get America back on its feet.

The reason why I like Jon and Bill Clinton together is that they never seem to get into any arguments. All their interviews end up being very calm, proffesional, and very funny.

He tells in the book about the past US, how the economy looked then and how they are now and how to fix it. Jon joked with saying: "do you President Obama have a copy, he could need one". Clinton also said that the country is going the wrong direction, which is pretty obvious with all the problems they have now.

I think I want to read this book cause it will give us a closer look of the US problems.

Week of October 24th

Its safe to say that I've enjoyed this weeks episode of the show. I am kind of behind on what is going on in the US but Jon gives you an idea with all the hilarious segments he does. I mean, who doesn't love Michelle Bachmann jokes? That lady is worse then Sarah Palin in my opinion. Apparently the Republicans are being too desperate and too hard on everything, even Pat Robertson, who is a television evangelist have told them to calm down, and that is bad.

Best segment this week is Lewis Blacks rant on 'Indoctrinating America's Children', meaning the parents letting the children getting involved in the Occupy Wall Street thing, plus all the new hidden messages in kids shows about starvation and terrorism. Sounds bizarre doesn't it?

Click here to go to that segment

The week ended strong with the segment 'Scared Mittless' where Jon talk about Mitt Romney being in the lead for the presidential nomination for the Republican party where he apparently has no idea what he is supporting.

Oh American politics, you are hilarious.

Plus a segment about Europes economic crisis I think everyone should watch.

And Jon, don't eat John Oliver the next time, ok? I actually like him.

Bad planning

Due to hiatus and bad planning on my side, I am kind of behind on reviewing the episodes. I was supposed to have a summary done by Friday night but didn't get to do it so instead I will talk about this weeks episodes. I will tweet from @TheDailySwedee from tomorrow, since the episodes shown in America doesn't reach the internet until tomorrow morning.

Please enjoy this video of Jon Stewart on the Fox show The O'Reilly factor.

Hiya and welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Alexandra also called Alex, I'm a 21 year old Swedish student currently studying Journalism and Visual Media in the beautiful city of Dublin, Ireland at Griffith College. About a month ago I left my comfort zone in Stockholm to pursue this education and to experience the life as a student on campus and so far I am loving it!

If you knew me you would know that I love to laugh. I love political satire and the TV show The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, so that’s what this blog will be about. Laughter and news. I will do reviews of episodes, books, post pictures, videos and of course will have a bit of fun fact about the host Jon Stewart and his correspondents.

I stumbled upon The Daily Show in 2006 on YouTube on the most viewed list and got curious of why so many TV shows were posted. I started watching one video, and then another one and I ended up staying up all night watching and laughing.

I really think Jon Stewart is a comedic genius and after reading this blog, I hope you will think that too.
